ViPR is an acronym for Vitality, Performance and Re-Conditioning.
VITALITY: A renewed sense of energy and movement possibility purposeful and strong
PERFORMANCE: Performing at the highest level possible, with plenty to spare
RECONDITIONING: Regaining the power to move effectively and efficiently once more
ViPR bridges the gap between movement and strength. Lift it, carry it, drag it, roll it, flip it, throw it, or even step on it. It the ultimate functional, whole-body training tool, combining the programming of a traditional resistance workout together with the physical agility needed for an optimal sports or fitness performance.
Michol Dalcourt, ViPR creator says ViPR was created from a need to foster purposeful motion and blend strength training with functional training and movement. Movement is fundamental. And what makes up effective movement is a blend of lifting, shifting, and twisting. Integrated movements like these become incredibly effective at producing results when combined with load.
ViPR bridges the gap between movement and strength training. It combines full-body movement with load, enhancing the vitality, performance and reconditioning goals of clients and athletes. ViPR introduces a new concept in fitness and sports conditioning Loaded Movement Training.
Loaded Movement Training combines task-oriented movement patterning with resistance training. Agility and strength come from moving the body in a multitude of purposeful tasks with load, just like back on the farm.
ViPR was inspired by farm kids who moved with load in daily life and who were stronger than any other competitors in sport. With ViPR, we can produce farm-strengthened bodies anywhere, without ever setting foot on a farm, without doing a single chore, in a fun, safe and effective way.
As ViPR creator Michol Dalcourt explains, the science of movement supports integrating Loaded Movement Training using ViPR into current training protocols for all fitness goals.
By studying the body and its adaptations, we know that Loaded Movement Training with ViPR effectively challenges and conditions muscle, fascia, nerves, skin and other systems of the body. Science shows that moving with load improves balance, agility and dynamic strength, to reach goals such as weight management, improved functionality in daily life and enhanced performance in sport.

ViPR uses the four pillars of human movement: gravity-into-ground loading, stretch-to-shorten, multi-directional movement, and using the entire body for movement.
Training with ViPR whole-body integration programming (WBI) allows the body to perform in a multi-directional fashion. ViPR allows movement to be loaded (variable load transfer), allowing a positiv
e transfer into life activities and physical demands.
ViPR will allow you to get even more flexible with your workout: lift and carry it, drag or roll it, flip it, throw or even step on it there are limitless ways to implement ViPR into your routine!
ViPR also integrates seamlessly with existing club tools, such as BOSU, TRX, benches, step and speed ladders. The special design enables it to be used inside and out with elite athletes and beginners alike and as an adjunct tool in a training session or all by itself. ViPR requires no maintenance and can be easily stored away.
ViPR fuses the functionality of seven tools barbell, dumbbell, Kettlebell, stability ball, medicine ball, balance devices and speed ladders together, creating a huge Swiss Army knife programming potential.
ViPR is made from a durable rubber compound, making it safer to use than steel free weights and easy to maintain and store. ViPR is available to use in seven weights ranging from 4kg to 20kg, so its suitable for everyone at any level of fitness.
There are currently 9,000 developed exercises. Each exercise is equally adaptable for participants at beginner or expert level.
The Benefits of using the ViPR

ViPR is one of the very few pieces of equipment that is truly versatile. It can be used for strength and power as well as rehabilitation, balance, agility and sports performance. ViPR combines the utility of a Barbell, Dumbbell, Kettlebell, Medicine Ball, Stability Ball, Balance tools and speed ladders therefore increasing your exercise library using one tool. ViPR can be used on any indoor floor surface as well as outdoors and in the water.
Regardless of the person working out ViPR, there needs to be a progression of weight increase or decrease in whatever exercise he or she is doing because the ViPR works in all three planes of movement. This will also depend on whether you are looking for strength gains or movement range increases. When you take into account the gravity and ground reaction forces as well as the lever length and distance you are moving the ViPR, the weight you are lifting does not remain constant and increases as it reacts against these forces. We find that the most popular weights are the 6kg and the 12kg as these give our clients variety and incremental increases. We are then able to do all of the exercises with progressive gains in all areas of strength and movement.
ViPR Has Been Voted The Most Popular Workout In The UK For 2010. It just gives you so much variety! You can move it in any direction, build strength, speed, flexibility and endurance working the body together as a unit so there is no isolation. It replicates everyday activity and movement making you stronger and more flexible. It really is strength training meeting effective movement training. The heart rate goes up, burns heaps of calories, challenges the whole body, has heaps of variety and most of all it is great fun.
Under the ViPR 20kg weight equates up to 5 times or greater its weight depending on the angle and direction of the lift. So while it may be easy to bicep curl or overhead press in a linear motion, as soon as we change the lifting pattern the gravity and reaction forces pulling against the weight and your body make it much heavier to lift, shift, pull or rotate. The 20kg weight is used in training elite athletes for explosive and power moves and even they struggle to complete or sustain many repetitions consistently with this weight. The intensity it creates while utilising Whole Body Integration (WBI) gets results fast for a stronger more efficient body.
Using the ViPR brings together the principles of WBI (Whole Body Integration) where the body has to function as a unit and this creates accelerated adaptations, loading movement for everyday life. The ViPR was developed to train for optimal function of the body. It blends strength with movement by reconditioning the body for high performance levels.
ViPR is currently being used by the British Armed Forces, American Armed forces, American Fire Services, and some of the top sporting teams in the world including the London Irish Rugby Club, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys etc
The ViPR is available in 7 different weights and suitable for everyone. The weights range from 4kg 20kg. The ViPR is made of rubber and has specially moulded hand grips for dual grip, narrow or wide. You can also place your hands through the ends or use the single handle on the other side for a grip. This allows maximum variety and comfort for clients to lift, shovel, push, pull, rotate and throw while integrating the whole body through movement at the same time.
In ViPR there is definitely no limit in its application. There are currently over 9000 exercise variations and more exercises continually being developed. ViPR secret is its basic system that allows you to regress or progress each exercise depending on your clients ability. As soon as you change one of these variables, you have a completely new exercise that focuses and integrates the whole body. All you do is change one or more of the following variables: The Hand Grip, Foot Stance, Range of Motion and Threshold.
ACE Expert Review :
In an era where the concept of functional training has garnered tremendous attention and popularity, the most effective training tools are those that combine purposeful motion and resistance with functional movement and training. A review of our activities of daily living and the movements performed repeatedly (e.g., putting away groceries, playing with children, working in the yard) makes it clear that those same movements need to be trained under load. Unfortunately, traditional gym equipment and exercises are devoid of this functionality, focusing more upon muscle isolation rather than whole-body integration (or emphasizing one over the other). While muscle-isolation training is sometimes desired or needed within an exercise program, the attainment of true movement efficiency and optimizing health-fitness-performance goals depends largely upon incorporating integrated (whole-body) movement in all three planes of motion (directions). ViPR offers the versatility of accommodating muscle-isolation exercises while offering the freedom to move three-dimensionally during almost any movement pattern (i.e., lift, press, shift or twist) anytime or anywhere. This versatility and the range of available tube weights can meet the needs and training goals of most clientsfrom the post-rehabilitation client to the performance athlete and the multiple goals of those in between (e.g., toning, weight loss or improved fitness). However, the user must fully understand the scope of its application and design exercise progressions appropriately. It is important to avoid making the mistake of progressing prematurely to heavier tubes before progressing to the complexity and efficiency of the movement patterns.
